The Weather
Situated near the Tropic of Capricorn, Mauritius has the advantage of a subtropical climate.

There are 2 seasons : summer from December to June, with an average temperature of 30°; and winter from July to the beginning of September with a variation of temperatures from 17° at night to 24° in mid-afternoon.

In between, a pleasant period from September to November with temperatures between 25° and 28°. Mauritius does not suffer from a monsoon climate.

Inland 28° 28° 27° 26° 25° 23° 22° 22° 23° 24° 26° 27°

The cyclonic period is between mid-December and mid-March.

If cyclones reach the island once every 15 years, they usually disrupt the weather and bring strong gales and torrential rains.

However, "living" a cyclone is not utterly uninteresting. Inside the villas and hotels, the risk is inexistent.

The sun rises at 05.00 a.m and sets at 7.00 p.m in Summer and in Winter rises at 06.00 a.m and sets at 6.00 p.m.
